Whiskers & Beaks provides professional and compassionate drop-in pet care visits and for all species, catered to your pets in the comfort of their home. We take an intuitive, pet-led approach, appealing to loving and caring pet owners seeking peace of mind and reliable care while you're busy or away. We also offer attentive, reliable, and enriching dog walking.
We are prepared to meet the needs for a variety of animals, including elderly and animals that need specialized medical care. We can administer medications orally, topically, and insulin injection.
We're so happy you found us! Prior to providing care we schedule a free Meet & Greet gain an understanding of what helps your pet feel comfortable and well while you're away and what their specific needs are. During this time we'll also determine the appropriate time allotment for visits. Learn more about our services below!
Drop-in visits Packages
Each package is customized to your companion’s specific needs. Currently offering 1-3 visits daily:
One Daily Visit: Ideal for pets needing care every 24 hours.
Two Daily Visits: Ideal for pets needing care every 10–12 hours.
Three Daily Visits: Ideal for dogs who need care every 4–6 hours during the day.

In general, we suggest the following to meet ethical standards of care: Dogs require at least 3 visits per 24 hours. Cats & other small pets require at least 1 visit per 24 hours. Exceptions made on departure and arrival days. Have a neighbor or friend helping? We are happy to work with you to make it work.

Ideal for: Healthy pets needing basic care during owner absence.
Includes:
One or two pets (e.g., two cats or one cat and one dog).
Feeding and fresh water.
30–45 minute visit.
15–20 minutes of exercise (walks, playtime, basic companionship).
Litter box cleaning (up to 3) or waste cleanup.
Daily text updates with photos.

Elite companion care
Ideal for: Pets requiring additional attention, enrichment, or routine medications.
Includes everything in Standard Care, plus:
60-minute visit with 45 minutes of exercise, interactive play, and/or enrichment activities.
Administration of up to 2 oral/topical medications or supplements.
Customized feeding schedules – Accommodates pets with timed feedings or pre-portioned/pre-prepared meals.
Detailed daily updates (text, photos, or videos) and health monitoring.
$40/day | $75/day (2 visits) | $110/day (3 visits)
Drop-in visit packages
Ideal for: Special needs, elderly pets, or that need frequent and customized care but can tolerate short periods alone
Includes everything in Premium Care, plus:
Full-time supervision – The sitter is present providing attention, exercise, and companionship. Sitter may leave briefly (max 3 hours at a time, 6 hours total per day).
Unlimited medication administration.
Specialized dietary meals – for pets with allergies, medical conditions, or strict nutritional requirements more complex than standard feeding
Fresh meal preparation with multiple components (designated measurements and mixes, cooked proteins, supplements, raw diets).
Mobility assistance (stairs, wheelchair support).
Vet visits included (no extra charge). check-ups, post-surgical follow-ups, or urgent care needs are included with planned visits. Last minute appointments will incur an additional fee.
In-depth reports with photos, videos, and behavior insights.
$150/day | $250/overnight | $75/4 hours | $20/hour (1–3 hours)
Premium Enrichment Package
Our visits are based on the needs unique to your pet(s). Services may include walks, playtime, petting, light grooming, feeding, medication administration, and necessary clean up of pet waste and accidents that may occur.
We provide daily updates by text or notes, at your preference, at no extra charge. We are even happy to send a picture of your pet each day of care (note for an extra timid pet, this may require extra time!).

Service Area & Travel Fees
We limit our service area to 20 miles, from downtown Amherst, to ensure top-quality care.
Within 10 miles – Save $5 from base rate.
10–15 miles – Included in base rate.
15–20 miles – $5 per visit.
Multi-Pet Homes
Cats: $5 per additional cat per visit. $10/cat if special accommodation is needed.
Dogs: $15 per additional dog (>1 year of age) per visit
Small Animals or Fish: $3 per additional pet, depending on their care needs.
Add-On Services (À la Carte Pricing)
Extended walks/playtime: +$5 per 30 minutes.
Administering extra medications: +$5/session
Holiday Service Fees
We cherish family time and adjust availability and rates during certain holidays to balance exceptional pet care with creating lasting family memories.
